Facebook LIVE - 7 Tips For Planning Your Broadcast.

1. Give people plenty of notice that you're going to broadcast.

Build the anticipation by letting people know when you'll be broadcasting live, maybe post a day countdown to build the audience.

2. Make sure you have a strong internet connection.

This is crucial if you don’t want to look silly. Check to make sure that you have a strong signal before going live. We can provide this service to you via our Outside Broadcast van. If broadcasting with your phone WiFi tends to work ok, but if you can't find a nearby network, you'll want a 4G connection. If you have weak signal the 'Go Live' button will be grayed out but remember the signal could still drop during the broadcast.

3. Write a good description before going live.

A well written description will capture your followers attention and help them understand what your broadcast is about. It will also make it easier for the public to find if the broadcast has been set to public.

4. Ask your viewers to follow you.

When you’re broadcasting ask your audience to tap on the Follow button. This means they will be opted-in and get notifications the next time you go live.

5. Interact with your watchers and respond to their comments.

Your audience will feel far more involved if you mention their name and answer their questions when you are live.

6. Broadcast for longer periods of time to reach more people.

The longer you broadcast, the more likely people are to discover and invite their friends on Facebook to watch the video. We recommend that you go live for at least 10 minutes, and you can stay live for up to 4 hours in one go.

7. Be creative and go live often!

Try different types of broadcasts - and go live frequently - to keep your audience engaged. If we are producing your show you could add videos into the broadcast and use multiple cameras.
