BBC Breakfast Live from D-Day Map Room


D-Day live coverage solo16 Broadcast

Today we were privileged to broadcast the weather bulletins for BBC Breakfast with weather legend Carol Kirkwood.


We were live in the key logistical map room for the final planning of D-Day, Southwick House in Hampshire, and we were there 75 years to the day that the decision was made to call off D-Day due to bad weather.



We broadcast two hits every hour from 6am till 8:45am and these also included guest interviews.


After the lives we then recorded a pre-record and some cutaways for the BBC News Channel which also made it on to the 1 o'Clock BBC Lunchtime News.
