Facebook LIVE - How does it work and how will it benefit my company.

Facebook now allows users to share and discover live video on their personal profile or page.

It works in a similar way to Periscope.

This is great news for our clients as it will mean we can broadcast directly to their Facebook pages and direct to their viewer base without asking the viewer to click away to YouTube etc.

We can offer the same high quality video production with multi-cameras but direct to your audience.

Your team can monitor the metrics in real time and the chatter on the page.

Service Restrictions (As of 6/1/17)

There is a broadcast time limit of 4 hours. You could always break your broadcast up to get around this.

Video quality can only be up to 720 HD and the max bit rate is 2500kbps this means the piture quality is fairly low.

Tracking Facebook understands the needs of Marketeers and has created the following video metrics.

Live Broadcast Audience: The total number of unique people who watched the video while it was live.

Viewers During Live Broadcast: A visual representation of the number of viewers during each moment of the live broadcast.

These new metrics are available through Page Insights and your Video Library and you will soon be able to export this data. You can see a live world map of how many people are using their service here.

Broadcast Ideas INSTANT ANALYSIS: Present live commentary to react to breaking news or an interesting day in your life. PERSONAL PRESS CONFERENCE: Use Live to control the message when you have an announcement. THE BIG INTERVIEW: Provide the first glimpse of an interview by “airing” a portion live. MEET MY PEOPLE: Introduce important people in your work through quick interviews or by letting them do a Live takeover. MASTER CLASS/DEMO: Reveal parts of your process by giving a live class, or reveal a secret skill with a live demonstration. FIRST READS: Use Live to provide the first reading of new written work.
